Hi I am a 52 year old white music teacher of South Africa, who completed the 140 hours Tefl course on line recently. I will teach anywhere in the world as long as I can teach both music and English after a while. I would like to teach at least 5 years in end. My hobby is Hand Weaving and therefore I do not mind to live in smaller villages. Is my age a problem? Will one get a reasonable salary to support my children's studies here in South Africa?
Thank you very much for your question. I am knowing you are a good parent and care about your chiildren from your words.
1) Unfortunately to let you know kindergarten have the age limit of English teachers in China. If you want to be an English teacher here, you can try to apply the jobs for teaching adults.
2)If your hobby is hand weaving, love music and do not mind live in smaller villages, you can choose to stay in Yunnan, Guangxi or Sichuan province, it would be easier for you to get a teaching job or to run a small weaving business.
3) How much salary you can get is depending on your qulifications and teaching experience.
Here are a number of options I recommend:
